The short answer

For most families, the best Andaman family tour package is 6 nights and 7 days: three nights in Port Blair, two on Havelock and one on Neil. It gives children a full ferry-free day on Havelock for Elephant Beach, and it avoids moving the family every single day. If you are short of time or travelling with very young children, 5 nights and 6 days is the balanced first visit. If you have grandparents with you, a slower pace and fewer ferry days matter more than seeing everything.

Our land packages start at ₹18,125 to ₹28,750 per adult before 5% GST, on double sharing, and flights are extra. A family of four on the 6 night plan, with the two children charged at adult rates (the upper bound), comes to about ₹94,500 for the land package and roughly ₹2.4 to ₹3.3 lakh all-in with flights, meals and activities. Child charges are shown in your quotation, and may bring that figure down.

Below you will find how each package suits a family, what a trip really costs, the places children enjoy, how to handle ferries with small children and grandparents, rooms and hotels, the best time to go, a day-by-day plan and what to pack.

Which family package fits your family

All four of our standard Andaman packages use the same three islands and include three ferry crossings. What changes is how many nights you spend on each, and what extra day trip is added.

DurationItineraryFrom price per adult
4N/5DAndaman 4 nights 5 days packageFrom ₹18,125 per adult · double sharing · GST extra
5N/6DAndaman Island Escape with Ross Island & North Bay – 5 Nights / 6 DaysFrom ₹20,000 per adult · double sharing · GST extra
6N/7DAndaman 6 Nights 7 Days PackageFrom ₹22,500 per adult · double sharing · GST extra
7N/8D7 Nights 8 Days Andaman Package: Port Blair, Havelock, Neil & BaratangFrom ₹28,750 per adult · double sharing · GST extra

Land package prices per adult for two adults sharing one room. GST extra; flights and optional extras are excluded unless the itinerary says otherwise. Check your selected dates for the final amount.

How to choose

  • 4 nights suits a short break or older children who cope well with a fast pace. You change hotel almost every night.
  • 5 nights is our most balanced plan for a first visit, with a boat day to North Bay and Ross Island.
  • 6 nights is the one we recommend most for families, because the extra Havelock night gives a day without a ferry.
  • 7 nights adds Baratang, which is a long road day with a ferry crossing, so it suits older children and teenagers better than toddlers.

The last column is an upper bound because it charges the children as adults. Child rates and age rules are not published on the package pages, and your quotation shows the applicable child charges.

What an Andaman family trip costs

The Andaman trip cost for a family has the same layers as any Andaman trip: the land package, flights, meals, activities and a small buffer. This example is a family of four (two adults, two children) on the 6 night plan, flying from Delhi. The children are charged as adults, so it is an upper bound.

Three things move this number for a family:

  • Child charges. Your quotation shows the applicable child charges for each package. Children can bring the package part down.
  • Flights. Infant and child fares differ by airline, so quote flights with the exact ages. Our estimate was ₹24,000 to ₹40,000 per adult return from Delhi.
  • Activities. Water activities are not included, and several have age limits (see below). You may pay for fewer of them than the sample assumes.

Places and activities children enjoy

Port Blair

  • Samudrika Naval Marine Museum: coral, sea life and the islands' ecology, a good family stop and a fine rainy-day option.
  • Cellular Jail and its evening Sound and Light Show: for older children, a way to understand the freedom struggle. The show is ₹300 for adults and ₹150 for children aged 5 to 11. Plan for about 200 metres of walking from where vehicles stop.
  • North Bay and Ross Island: a boat day with ruins to explore and, optionally, snorkelling or a glass-bottom boat ride.
  • Corbyn's Cove: an easy first-evening stroll by the sea.
  • Chidiya Tapu: birdwatching and sunset, about 25 km from Port Blair.

Havelock

  • Radhanagar Beach: a 2 km white-sand beach with gentle waves that suit swimming.
  • Elephant Beach: snorkelling and light water activities. The 6 night plan gives it a day of its own.
  • Glass-bottom boat ride: a simple way to see coral without getting in the water.

Neil

  • Bharatpur Beach: shallow, calm water with a short glass-bottom boat ride.
  • Natural Bridge and Laxmanpur Beach: a rock arch at low tide and a sunset beach.

Age limits to know about

  • Sea walk: children under 7 are not allowed. Children aged 7 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult, and no swimming is needed. A parent or guardian signs a waiver for a minor.
  • Scuba diving: divers aged 12 to 49 can dive without restrictions if medically fit, according to one operator. Ask the operator about anything for under-12s.
  • Glass-bottom boat and snorkelling: simpler alternatives for younger children. Confirm age rules with the operator.

Travelling with young children and grandparents

Andaman suits multi-generation groups if the plan is paced well. The things that matter are the ferries, the boarding steps and the walking.

Ferries

  • Allow extra time. One ferry operator advises arriving about an hour early when travelling with children or senior citizens, rather than the 45 minutes for other passengers. Boarding gates close 30 minutes before departure.
  • Boarding involves steps, and luggage is scanned and then left in a luggage compartment, so keep what you need for the crossing in a small bag.
  • Crossings are not long. Havelock to Neil takes about an hour and Neil to Port Blair about an hour and a half.
  • Every passenger needs valid photo ID, and a printed ticket copy is needed on some ferries. Ask what applies to children.
  • Infants under one year travel free on most ferries, though rules vary by operator.

Walking and boarding on the sightseeing days

  • Cellular Jail: vehicles stop near the entrance and you walk about 200 metres each way.
  • Ross Island, North Bay and Elephant Beach: these involve boat boarding.
  • Natural Bridge on Neil: the shore is rocky and exposed, so walk carefully.

Pace

  • Pick the plan with fewer hotel changes. The 6 night plan spends two nights on Havelock and three in Port Blair.
  • Keep afternoons light for young children and for grandparents.
  • Tell us the ages and any mobility needs when you ask for a quote, so we can plan the day order and the vehicle.

Our packages are planned with families and seniors in mind. They are fixed itineraries, so for a custom pace you can request a custom plan separately.

Hotels and rooms for families

You choose a hotel category when you book. Our standard packages offer:

Category

Levels

2 Star

Standard, Deluxe

3 Star

Standard, Deluxe, Premium

4 Star

Standard, Deluxe, Premium, Royal

The starting prices on this page are for the 2 Star Standard category, so a higher category raises the price. Hotel names are provided after booking, subject to availability and confirmation. If a property is unavailable, a comparable alternative is arranged.

Rooms. Package prices are per adult on double sharing. Room limits, extra beds and child rates depend on the package and are not published on the package pages, so ask before you book. Tell us how many adults and children, and their ages, and your quotation will show the room arrangement and the child charges. Single-occupancy or unusual room arrangements need a quote.

If you want rooms side by side for a larger family or a grandparent, ask us at the quote stage, because we cannot guarantee it from the package page alone.

Best time for an Andaman family holiday

The Andaman season runs October to May, and November to April is the most popular stretch. For families, the dry months matter most, because ferries and boat days run more reliably and children can actually get in the water. In Port Blair, long-term averages show about 14 mm of rain in February and under 50 mm in January and March, against 448 to 505 mm a month from June to September.

  • November to March: the best conditions for families. Pick dates away from the peak week if you can.
  • 24 to 31 December: the busiest week. Gala dinner supplements apply on 24 and 31 December, and peak-season room supplements can apply, so a family of four feels it.
  • April and May: warmer and quieter, with more weather risk by May.
  • June to September: the rainy season. Rain can disrupt ferries and water sports, which is hard on a family with a fixed schedule and children.

School holidays are when most families travel and demand is higher, but we do not publish a fixed percentage uplift. Ask for the same plan on two sets of dates to see the difference. Our best time to visit Andaman guide has the full month-by-month picture.

Why it works for families. Day 4 is a ferry-free day, so children rest and play instead of packing again. Days 1 and 2 stay in Port Blair, which gives the family time to settle in. If a ferry leaves before 8 am, the hotel may provide a packed breakfast.

Safety, health and what to pack

Safety

  • Swimming: Radhanagar's gentle waves suit swimming, but rocks at Kalapathar and the Natural Bridge can be hazardous, so keep children close.
  • Activities: follow the operator's age and medical rules. The sea walk is not for children under 7, and divers should be medically fit. Weather can cancel water activities.
  • Boats: wear what the operator provides and stay seated during crossings.
  • Medical costs are not included in the package, and neither are costs caused by weather disruption. Consider travel insurance for the whole family.

Pack

  • Government-issued photo ID for every traveller, and printed tickets.
  • Light, breathable clothing, because humidity is high all year.
  • A spare set of clothes for swimming at Radhanagar.
  • Water and snacks for quiet beaches where shops are few.
  • Any regular medicines and a basic first-aid kit.
  • A small day bag for ferry days, since luggage is stowed separately.
  • Sun protection and swimwear for the children.

Andaman family tour packages: frequently asked questions

Which is the best Andaman package for a family?

The 6 nights / 7 days plan for most families, because it includes a ferry-free day on Havelock. The 5 night plan is a good shorter alternative.

How much does an Andaman family package cost?

Our land packages start at ₹18,125 to ₹28,750 per adult before GST on double sharing. A family of four on the 6 night plan costs about ₹94,500 for the land package at adult rates, and roughly ₹2.4 to ₹3.3 lakh all-in with flights, meals and activities.

Do you offer Andaman family packages with flight?

Our standard packages are land packages and flights are not included. Flights can be quoted separately, so ask for them when you request your quote.

What are the child rates?

Child charges and age rules are shown in your quotation and are not published on the package pages. Share the children's ages when you ask for a quote.

Is Andaman safe for children?

Most family activities are gentle, such as beaches, glass-bottom boats and sightseeing, but some have age limits. The sea walk is not for children under 7, and divers must be medically fit.

Is Andaman suitable for senior citizens and grandparents?

Yes, with planning. Cellular Jail involves a 200 metre walk from the parking area, ferry boarding has steps, and boat excursions need boarding. Tell us ages and mobility needs and we will plan accordingly.

Which hotels do you use?

We offer 2, 3 and 4 star categories. Hotel names are provided after booking, subject to availability.

Can we customise the itinerary?

The standard packages are fixed. Custom plans can be requested separately.

What is the best time for a family trip?
