Georgia has quietly become one of the most interesting honeymoon choices for Indian couples. In one short trip you can stroll an old-world capital, wake up to snow peaks in the Caucasus, taste wine in a hilltop town known as the "city of love" and end on the Black Sea. Flights are relatively short, the e-visa is simple, and costs are friendlier than Western Europe.

We don't sell fixed honeymoon packages for Georgia; instead we plan each Georgia honeymoon around the couple's dates, pace and budget. This guide shows the most romantic places, the best season and a sample plan. For trip ideas and enquiries, visit our Georgia tour packages page.

Why Georgia for a honeymoon?

  • Variety in a small country: city, mountains, wine country and sea within a few hours of each other.
  • Snow for couples who want it: Gudauri and Kazbegi have snow in winter, which is a big draw for Indian honeymooners.
  • Romantic stays: boutique hotels in old Tbilisi, mountain hotels with Mount Kazbek views and vineyard stays in Kakheti.
  • Reasonable cost: good 4-star hotels and private transport cost much less than in Switzerland or Western Europe.
  • Easy visa: an online e-visa, or visa-free entry if you hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa.

Most romantic places in Georgia

Tbilisi

Ride the cable car to Narikala Fortress for sunset, walk the lit-up Bridge of Peace, book a private sulphur bath room in Abanotubani and end with dinner and Georgian folk singing.

Kazbegi (Stepantsminda)

The Gergeti Trinity Church on a ridge beneath Mount Kazbek is Georgia's most famous view. Stay at least one night in a hotel with mountain-view rooms.

Sighnaghi and Kakheti

Sighnaghi, a hilltop town of old walls and red roofs, is nicknamed the "city of love" and famously has a wedding house that is open long hours. Add wine tasting at family wineries in the Alazani valley and Bodbe Monastery.

Gudauri

For a winter honeymoon: snow, a tandem paragliding flight over the valley if the weather allows, and cosy evenings in a ski hotel.

Batumi

For a summer finish: the seafront boulevard, the moving Ali and Nino sculpture at sunset and Black Sea beaches.

Best time for a Georgia honeymoon

  • May to June and September to October: the best all-round months, with pleasant weather, green or golden landscapes, and the wine harvest in Kakheti from late September.
  • December to March: for snow in Gudauri and Kazbegi, often matching the Indian wedding season. Mountain roads can close briefly after heavy snow, so keep a buffer day.
  • July and August: hot in Tbilisi but ideal for Batumi and mountain hiking.

How much does a Georgia honeymoon cost?

As an indicative guide, a 6-day Georgia honeymoon costs roughly ₹80,000 to ₹1,30,000 per person including flights, with 4-star hotels and a private car. Boutique and 5-star stays, a winter ski stay or extra nights in Batumi raise the budget. Fares are higher in May–June and over Christmas and New Year. See our Georgia trip cost from India guide for a full breakdown.

Visa and documents for couples

Both partners need a Georgia e-visa unless they hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit. Apply separately on the official portal evisa.gov.ge, and carry travel health insurance (mandatory since 1 January 2026, minimum 30,000 GEL cover). If the bride's passport name differs from her married name on tickets, make sure all bookings match the passport exactly. Read our Georgia visa guide for Indians.
