Georgia is one of the better-value European-style holidays you can take from India. Hotels, food and private drivers cost much less than in Western Europe, the e-visa is cheap and quick, and the country is small enough to see a lot in a week. The final Georgia trip cost depends mostly on your flights, the season, the hotels you choose and how many regions you cover.

This guide breaks down each part of a Georgia trip budget from India, with typical price ranges and sample budgets. All figures are indicative, based on about ₹36.7 to one Georgian lari (GEL) in October 2026, and change with season and exchange rates. For an exact price, send us your dates.

Is Georgia expensive for Indians?

Not compared with most of Europe. A good meal in Tbilisi costs far less than in Paris or Zurich, mid-range hotels are reasonably priced, and a full day with a private car and driver costs about the same as a single theme park ticket elsewhere. The biggest costs are flights in peak season and premium hotels in Gudauri during the ski season. With early booking, a 6-day trip including flights usually works out to roughly ₹80,000 to ₹1,30,000 per person.

1. Flights from India

Flights are usually the largest single cost.

  • Nonstop: IndiGo has operated nonstop flights to Tbilisi from Delhi and Mumbai, about 4.5 to 6 hours. These routes were paused for part of 2026, so check the current schedule.
  • One-stop: via Dubai, Sharjah, Doha, Abu Dhabi or Istanbul, roughly 8 to 14 hours in total.
  • Indicative return economy fares: roughly ₹30,000 to ₹55,000 per person from Delhi or Mumbai when booked early, more in May and June holidays and over Christmas and New Year.

Compare total fares including checked baggage. Details in our flights from India to Georgia guide.

2. Visa and insurance

  • Georgia e-visa: about USD 35.40 per person (roughly ₹3,000), including the DuVerify verification fee. Free if you enter visa-free with a valid US, UK or Schengen visa.
  • Travel insurance: mandatory for all tourists since 1 January 2026, with at least 30,000 GEL cover. An Indian overseas travel policy for a week usually costs a few hundred to a couple of thousand rupees, depending on age and cover.

See our Georgia visa for Indians guide.

3. Hotels

  • Tbilisi 3-star: roughly ₹3,000 to ₹6,000 per room per night.
  • Tbilisi 4-star: roughly ₹6,000 to ₹12,000, with Old Town and Rustaveli locations at the higher end.
  • Tbilisi 5-star: from roughly ₹12,000 upwards.
  • Kazbegi: simple guesthouses to a few upscale mountain hotels with views of Mount Kazbek; the best rooms book out in summer.
  • Gudauri: prices rise sharply in the ski season, especially at Christmas, New Year and weekends.
  • Batumi: most expensive in July and August beach season.

4. Transport: car and driver

Most travellers explore Georgia with a private car and driver, which is comfortable for families and seniors and lets you stop for photos on the mountain roads.

  • Private car with driver: roughly ₹7,000 to ₹12,000 per day for a sedan; more for a minivan for larger groups.
  • Within Tbilisi: ride apps such as Bolt and Yandex Go are inexpensive.
  • Tbilisi to Batumi: the train takes about 5 to 5.5 hours and is good value; a private transfer costs more but is flexible.

5. Food

Georgian food is hearty and affordable. Khachapuri (cheese bread), khinkali (dumplings, including vegetarian ones), lobio (bean stew) and badrijani (aubergine with walnut) are easy to find.

  • Casual meal: roughly ₹600 to ₹1,200 per person.
  • Mid-range restaurant: roughly ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 per person.
  • Indian restaurants: available in Tbilisi and Batumi, usually a little pricier than local food.

Budget roughly ₹2,500 to ₹4,000 per person per day for meals outside the hotel breakfast.

6. Sightseeing and activities

Many of Georgia's best sights are free or low-cost: churches, monasteries, viewpoints and the Old Town. Typical paid extras include:

  • Narikala cable car and Mtatsminda funicular rides
  • A private room at the Abanotubani sulphur baths
  • Wine tastings and lunch at a Kakheti winery
  • Paragliding in Gudauri, or ski passes, lessons and equipment rental in winter
  • Entry to Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon or Uplistsikhe

Set aside roughly ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 per person for activities on a 6-day trip, more if you ski or paraglide. Prices change, so check before booking.

7. Indian taxes on overseas packages

If you book a Georgia tour package with an Indian travel company, two taxes apply:

  • GST: 5% on the tour package.
  • TCS: 2% on overseas tour packages since 1 April 2026. It is credited to your PAN and can be adjusted against your income tax.

Sample Georgia trip budgets from India

Indicative costs per person for 5 nights and 6 days, twin sharing, including flights from Delhi or Mumbai:

  • Budget (3-star, shared tours and some public transport): roughly ₹70,000 to ₹90,000
  • Mid-range (4-star, private car and driver, Tbilisi, Kazbegi and Kakheti): roughly ₹90,000 to ₹1,30,000
  • Premium (5-star and boutique stays, private guide, winter in Gudauri or summer in Batumi): roughly ₹1,50,000 and above

A 5N/6D custom land arrangement (Tbilisi, Kazbegi, Mtskheta and Kakheti, 4-star hotels, private car and driver) usually costs roughly ₹45,000 to ₹75,000 per person before flights. Children, seniors and larger groups change the per-person price.

How to save money on a Georgia trip

  • Travel in May, late September to October, or November to avoid peak prices.
  • Book flights early and compare one-stop options via the Gulf or Istanbul.
  • Stay 2 to 3 nights in Tbilisi and do day trips instead of changing hotels every night.
  • Exchange money at city exchange booths in Tbilisi rather than at the airport.
  • Eat at local Georgian restaurants for most meals; vegetarian options are easy to find.
