Getting to Georgia from India is easier than many people expect. Tbilisi is only a few hours' flying time from Delhi, and there are plenty of one-stop connections through the Gulf and Istanbul. The main thing to know in 2026 is that the nonstop situation has changed during the year, so always check the current schedule before you plan your dates.
This guide covers Delhi to Tbilisi flights and other routes from India, typical flight times, indicative fares and tips for booking. We plan custom land arrangements on our Georgia tour packages page, and can quote flights with them if you wish.
Nonstop flights: Delhi and Mumbai to Tbilisi
IndiGo has operated nonstop flights to Tbilisi from Delhi, and added Mumbai from August 2025, with a flight time of roughly 4.5 to 6 hours. However, in 2026 IndiGo paused its Tbilisi flights, along with some other Central Asia and Caucasus routes, citing geopolitical developments; the cancellations were extended until at least 30 April 2026.
Because schedules can change at short notice, check the current IndiGo schedule on the airline's website or a flight search engine before booking anything else. If nonstop flights are running for your dates, they are usually the quickest and simplest option.
One-stop routes from India
If nonstop flights are not available, or you are flying from another Indian city, these one-stop routes are the most common:
- Via Dubai: flydubai connects many Indian cities to Tbilisi through Dubai.
- Via Sharjah or Abu Dhabi: Air Arabia and other Gulf carriers offer budget connections.
- Via Doha: Qatar Airways, a full-service option with good connections from across India.
- Via Istanbul: Turkish Airlines and Pegasus; Istanbul also connects to Batumi and Kutaisi.
Total journey time is usually 8 to 14 hours depending on the layover. Check whether your layover country needs a transit visa for Indian passport holders and keep baggage allowances in mind on budget airlines.
Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi?
- Tbilisi (TBS): the main international airport, about 20 to 30 minutes from the city centre and the natural starting point for most trips.
- Kutaisi (KUT): in western Georgia, served mainly by low-cost airlines from Europe and some Gulf routes.
- Batumi (BUS): on the Black Sea coast, with seasonal international flights.
An open-jaw trip works well: fly into Tbilisi and out of Batumi or Kutaisi, so you don't have to travel back across the country. Read our Batumi guide for the seaside end of the trip.
How much do flights to Georgia cost from India?
Indicative return economy fares from Delhi or Mumbai are roughly ₹30,000 to ₹55,000 per person when booked a few weeks ahead. Fares rise in May and June (Indian summer holidays), around Diwali and over Christmas and New Year. Budget carriers may look cheaper but often charge separately for checked bags and meals, so compare the total.

Tips for booking flights to Tbilisi
- Book the visa-friendly way: your e-visa application needs a return ticket, so book flexible or refundable fares if the visa is not yet approved.
- Check layover times: aim for at least 2 hours on separate tickets, and more in winter.
- Early-morning arrivals: many flights land in Tbilisi in the early hours. Arrange a private transfer and an early check-in or a room from the night before.
- Senior travellers: prefer full-service carriers with included meals and baggage, and request wheelchair assistance when booking if needed.
- Keep documents handy: e-visa (or your valid US, UK or Schengen visa), travel insurance and hotel bookings.
Visa and insurance before you fly
Most Indian travellers need a Georgia e-visa, unless they hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit. Since 1 January 2026, all tourists must also carry travel health insurance covering the whole stay with a minimum of 30,000 GEL. Read our Georgia visa guide for Indians before booking.
