Your holiday

A thoughtfully planned holiday experience.

Our Ladakh honeymoon package follows the same well-paced route as our most popular trip, but in the better stays at each stop, chosen for their views and comfort. It is a honeymoon for couples who would rather watch the stars over a desert camp than sit by a pool.

You start in a village cottage in Sham Valley, with apricot orchards and quiet walks, and drive to Leh via Alchi Monastery, the Sangam and Magnetic Hill, ending at Shanti Stupa for sunset over the town. From Leh you cross Khardung La to a luxury camp in Nubra Valley, with a camel ride on the dunes at Hunder.

The highlight is a night in a lakeside cottage at Pangong Lake, with sunset and sunrise over the water, before returning to Leh via Thiksey Monastery for a candlelight dinner on your last night. A private car, breakfast and dinner, permits and oxygen support are included.

Leh is at about 3,500 metres. Rest fully on the day of arrival; altitude sickness can affect anyone, and guests with medical conditions should consult a doctor before travel.

Sightseeing is on a point-to-point basis in locally registered vehicles as per Ladakh taxi union rules; the vehicle is not at disposal.

Stays at Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri and Hanle are in camps, cottages, guest houses or small hotels with basic facilities and limited electricity; alternate properties of a similar standard may be used.

Itineraries may change because of weather, roadblocks, landslides, flight delays, permit restrictions or local conditions; any extra cost arising from such changes is payable directly.

Carry original government photo ID for permits and checkpoints. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit arranged through us.

Child policy, hotel check-in and check-out times and meal plans are as per the selected hotels.

Cancellation charges depend on hotel, camp, transport and permit supplier rules at the time of cancellation.

Cancellations close to the travel date, during peak season or for fixed departures may attract higher or 100% cancellation charges.

Refunds, where applicable, are processed after the amount is received back from the hotel or supplier.

What makes it a honeymoon

  • Better stays: Luxury or Premium category hotels, camps and cottages, with a room upgrade or welcome amenity where the hotel offers one.
  • Private car throughout: stop wherever you like for photographs.
  • A night at Pangong: in a heated or well-insulated cottage close to the lake.
  • Candlelight dinner in Leh on your last evening, plus a camel ride at the Hunder dunes.

When to plan a Ladakh honeymoon

Leh is at about 3,500 metres (11,500 feet). Everyone, however fit, needs a slow first day: rest, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and exertion. Read our altitude sickness and packing guide before you travel.

June to September is the best time for a Ladakh honeymoon, with all roads open and pleasant days. May and early October are quieter and colder. If you are combining Ladakh with another destination, Kashmir and Himachal are close by. See our best time to visit Ladakh.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ladakh good for a honeymoon?
Yes, for couples who love mountains, open landscapes and photography. It is more of an adventure than a beach honeymoon, so choose good stays and a relaxed pace.
Which hotels are used?
Luxury or Premium category hotels in Leh and Sham Valley, a luxury camp in Nubra and a lakeside cottage at Pangong. We send the hotel names with your quote.
Can we add Kashmir or Manali?
Yes. We can add Srinagar before or after Ladakh, or plan the trip by road from Manali or Srinagar.
Is airfare included?
No, but we can quote flights from your city.
Do we need permits?
Yes, for the protected areas. Nubra Valley, Turtuk, Pangong, Tso Moriri, Hanle and some other areas need a permit along with environment, wildlife and Red Cross fees. Rules for Indian citizens have been relaxed in recent years and change from time to time, so we arrange the permit or fee receipts for you; carry an original government photo ID.
