Your holiday

A thoughtfully planned holiday experience.

This Ladakh 4 nights 5 days package is for travellers who want the two big Ladakh experiences, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake, in the shortest sensible time. Instead of a long day trip to Pangong and back, you spend a night on the lakeshore and see it at sunset and sunrise.

After a day of rest in Leh, you cross Khardung La into Nubra Valley for a ride on the double-humped camels of the Hunder sand dunes. The next day the Shyok river road takes you to Pangong Lake, and on the way back to Leh you visit Thiksey Monastery and Shey, with a traditional Ladakhi lunch and, where scheduled by our local partner, a polo match and cultural show.

Breakfast and dinner, a private vehicle, permits and oxygen support are included. With only one night in Leh before going higher, this trip suits fit adults and couples who have been to high altitude before; families and first-timers should consider our 5-night Leh Ladakh package with an extra acclimatisation day.

Important Terms

Package cost depends on travel dates, hotel category, number of travellers sharing the vehicle and availability; prices are confirmed at the time of booking.

Leh is at about 3,500 metres. Rest fully on the day of arrival; altitude sickness can affect anyone, and guests with medical conditions should consult a doctor before travel.

Sightseeing is on a point-to-point basis in locally registered vehicles as per Ladakh taxi union rules; the vehicle is not at disposal.

Stays at Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri and Hanle are in camps, cottages, guest houses or small hotels with basic facilities and limited electricity; alternate properties of a similar standard may be used.

Itineraries may change because of weather, roadblocks, landslides, flight delays, permit restrictions or local conditions; any extra cost arising from such changes is payable directly.

Carry original government photo ID for permits and checkpoints. Foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit arranged through us.

Child policy, hotel check-in and check-out times and meal plans are as per the selected hotels.

Cancellation charges depend on hotel, camp, transport and permit supplier rules at the time of cancellation.

Cancellations close to the travel date, during peak season or for fixed departures may attract higher or 100% cancellation charges.

Permit fees and any non-refundable bookings cannot be refunded once processed.

No refund is given for unused services, nights or sightseeing, or for changes due to weather, roadblocks or flight cancellations.

Refunds, where applicable, are processed after the amount is received back from the hotel or supplier.

Why choose this Ladakh trip

  • Nubra and Pangong in one short trip: the two highlights most people come for.
  • A night at Pangong: the lake is at its most beautiful in the evening and early morning.
  • A loop, not a back-and-forth: the Shyok river road links Nubra and Pangong, so you never repeat a road.
  • Good value: four nights keeps the cost and leave days down.

Good to know before you book

Leh is at about 3,500 metres (11,500 feet). Everyone, however fit, needs a slow first day: rest, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and exertion. Read our altitude sickness and packing guide before you travel.

Camps at Pangong have basic facilities, limited electricity in the evening and cold nights, even in summer. Pangong stays are available roughly from May to October; outside this period we adjust the plan. Flights to Leh land in the morning, so book a flight that arrives early and leaves early on day 5.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 4 nights enough for Ladakh?
It is enough to see Leh, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake, but it is a fast pace. If you can, add a night for acclimatisation or choose our 5-night package.
Do we stay overnight at Pangong Lake?
Yes, one night in a camp or cottage at Pangong, so you see the lake at sunset and sunrise.
Is this package suitable for senior citizens?
Seniors in good health can do it, but we recommend the 5-night or family package, which add a rest day before going over the high passes.
Is airfare included?
No, the package starts and ends at Leh airport. We can quote flights from Delhi, Mumbai or your city.
Do I need a permit for Nubra Valley and Pangong?
Yes, for the protected areas. Nubra Valley, Turtuk, Pangong, Tso Moriri, Hanle and some other areas need a permit along with environment, wildlife and Red Cross fees. Rules for Indian citizens have been relaxed in recent years and change from time to time, so we arrange the permit or fee receipts for you; carry an original government photo ID.
