Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is the most-requested attraction on our Singapore holidays, and for good reason. It is the only Universal Studios theme park in Southeast Asia, with 7 themed zones, record-breaking roller coasters, gentle rides for little children and shows throughout the day. It sits inside Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, a short drive from the city.

This guide covers ticket prices and what they cost in rupees, the zones and best rides, Express passes, food and lockers, and our tips for a stress-free day with children.

Ticket prices

A standard one-day ticket costs about SGD 83 for adults (13 to 64 years) and SGD 63 for children (4 to 12) and senior citizens, at 2026 rates. At an exchange rate of about ₹65 to ₹70 per Singapore dollar, that is roughly ₹5,400 to ₹5,800 for an adult and ₹4,100 to ₹4,400 for a child, before any booking fees. Children under 4 enter free. Tickets are for a specific date, prices can be higher on peak days, and buying at the gate costs more than buying ahead.

Every package that includes USS has a standard admission ticket and shared transfers from your hotel already in the price.

Express passes: are they worth it?

An Express pass lets you use a separate, shorter queue once on each participating ride. It costs extra (from around SGD 50, rising on busy days) and is sold in limited numbers. On weekdays outside school holidays, most queues are under 30 to 45 minutes and you can manage without it. On weekends, public holidays and in June or December, an Express pass can save hours, especially for families with teenagers who want to ride the coasters more than once.

The 7 zones and the best rides

  • Hollywood: the entrance boulevard with shops, cafés and character meet-and-greets.
  • New York: Manhattan-style street sets and Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, a gentle ride for younger children.
  • Sci-Fi City: Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle, one of the best rides in the park, and Battlestar Galactica, a pair of duelling roller coasters (Human and Cylon).
  • Ancient Egypt: Revenge of the Mummy, a high-speed indoor coaster in the dark.
  • The Lost World: Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure (you will get wet), Canopy Flyer, and the WaterWorld stunt show, a highlight for all ages.
  • Far Far Away: Shrek's castle, Shrek 4-D Adventure, Puss in Boots' Giant Journey and the Enchanted Airways family coaster.
  • Minion Land: the newest zone, opened in 2025 where Madagascar used to be, with the Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride, Minion-themed attractions and plenty of photo spots.

Best rides by age

Toddlers and young children: Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase, Enchanted Airways, the Minion Land rides with low height limits, the Shrek 4-D show and the WaterWorld show.

Older children: Transformers, Puss in Boots' Giant Journey, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure and Canopy Flyer.

Teenagers and adults: Battlestar Galactica (both tracks), Revenge of the Mummy and Transformers.

Height limits are marked at every ride; check them with your children before queuing.

Food at Universal Studios

Outside food is generally not allowed, apart from baby food and items for special dietary needs. Restaurants inside include burger, pizza and Asian outlets, and most offer vegetarian options; ask staff about ingredients if you need Jain food. Resorts World Sentosa, just outside the park gates, has many more restaurants, including Indian food. Carry a refillable water bottle; there are water points across the park.

Tips for the perfect USS day

  • Arrive before opening and head straight to the big rides (Battlestar Galactica, Transformers, Revenge of the Mummy), when queues are shortest.
  • Check the show times at the entrance and plan around WaterWorld.
  • Use the lockers: loose items are not allowed on several rides, and lockers are provided near those rides (some are free for a short period).
  • Bring a change of clothes or a poncho for Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure.
  • Avoid weekends and school holidays if you can; weekdays are much quieter.
  • Don't go the day after a night flight. Put USS in the middle of your trip.
  • Stay on Sentosa afterwards for dinner and the Wings of Time show, or the luge.

Is Universal Studios Singapore suitable for senior citizens?

Yes, with a little planning. Many attractions are shows and gentle rides, such as WaterWorld, Shrek 4-D and the street sets, and there are plenty of benches, cafés and shaded areas. Wheelchairs and electric scooters can be rented near the entrance, and guests with mobility needs can ask about accessible entry at the guest services counter. Grandparents often enjoy a slower day with the shows and a long lunch while younger family members ride the coasters.

What to carry for a day at USS

  • A small backpack (large bags need lockers on several rides).
  • Water bottle, cap, sunscreen and a small umbrella or poncho.
  • A change of clothes for children if you plan to ride Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure.
  • Snacks for babies and toddlers, and any special dietary items.
  • A phone with the park map and show times, plus a power bank.

Weather and crowds

USS is an outdoor park, so it is hot in the afternoon and some rides pause during heavy rain or lightning; they reopen once the weather clears. Crowds are lightest on weekdays during term time, and heaviest on weekends, Singapore and Indian school holidays, and from mid-December to early January. If your dates fall in a busy period, consider an Express pass or arrive early and ride the most popular attractions first.

How Universal Studios fits into a Singapore trip

Plan Universal Studios in the middle of your holiday, after a day of easier sightseeing, and keep the next day lighter. In a 4-night trip, the most popular order is city tour and Sentosa, Gardens by the Bay, then Universal Studios, as in our Singapore 4 nights 5 days package. Families who want both theme parks and water parks should look at the Adventure Rush, and those combining Singapore with Malaysia can choose the Singapore & Malaysia Family Adventure.

Combining USS with the rest of Sentosa

Universal Studios is part of Resorts World Sentosa, next to the Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark, and a short walk or monorail ride from the cable car, luge and beaches. Most visitors spend one day at USS and a separate day on the rest of Sentosa. See our Sentosa Island guide for everything else on the island.
