How much does a Singapore trip cost from India? The honest answer is: less than most people expect for the flights, and more than most people expect for the hotels and attractions. Singapore is one of the more expensive cities in Asia, but it is also very efficient, so with good planning a 4 or 5-night holiday fits a wide range of budgets.

Below we break the cost down item by item, using current ticket prices in Singapore dollars (SGD), so you can build your own budget. Exchange rates move, so convert at the day's rate; in recent years one Singapore dollar has cost roughly ₹65 to ₹70.

1. Flights

Return economy flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata or Hyderabad are the biggest variable. Fares are lowest when booked 6 to 10 weeks ahead for travel outside school holidays, and highest in May to June, Diwali, Christmas and New Year. South Indian cities are usually the cheapest gateways because the flights are shorter. Low-cost carriers can save money, but add the cost of checked baggage and meals before comparing.

2. Visa and SG Arrival Card

The Singapore visa costs ₹2,100 in government fees from January 2026, plus the authorised agent's service charge (₹1,300 at the time of writing), so budget about ₹3,400 per person. The SG Arrival Card is free. If you also visit Malaysia, Indian passport holders currently enter visa-free for up to 30 days until 31 December 2026. More in our Singapore visa guide.

3. Hotels

Accommodation is where Singapore is most expensive. Rooms are often compact, and prices rise sharply on weekends, during big events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix, and in school holidays. As a rough guide, budget and 3-star hotels in areas such as Little India, Bugis and Geylang cost the least; 4-star hotels around Orchard, Clarke Quay and the city centre are mid-range; and Marina Bay and Sentosa resorts are premium. Families should book early, because rooms for three or four people are limited.

4. Attraction tickets

Tickets add up quickly in Singapore, which is why most visitors choose a package with tickets included. Typical non-resident adult prices in 2026 are:

AttractionAdult (approx.)Child (approx.)
Universal Studios Singapore (1 day)SGD 83SGD 63
Gardens by the Bay: Flower Dome + Cloud ForestSGD 46SGD 32
Night SafariSGD 58SGD 41
Singapore ZooSGD 49SGD 34
River WondersSGD 45SGD 33
Bird ParadiseSGD 49SGD 34
Singapore Cable Car (Sky Pass)SGD 35SGD 25
Singapore Oceanarium (weekday)SGD 50SGD 39

Prices are standard gate or website rates and change from time to time; peak days can cost more, and combo tickets or packages usually cost less. Many great experiences are free: the Supertree Grove and Garden Rhapsody show, the Spectra show at Marina Bay, Merlion Park, Jewel Changi's Rain Vortex and the heritage streets of Chinatown and Little India.

5. Food

Food can be very cheap or very expensive. A meal at a hawker centre or food court costs a few Singapore dollars, and Indian vegetarian thalis in Little India are good value. Mall restaurants cost more, and rooftop or hotel dining is premium. A family that eats breakfast at the hotel, lunch at food courts and dinner at a mix of hawker centres and restaurants keeps food costs sensible. See our Indian food in Singapore guide for where to eat.

6. Local transport

The MRT metro and buses are inexpensive; most rides cost under SGD 2.50 with a contactless card. A Singapore Tourist Pass gives unlimited rides for SGD 17 (1 day), SGD 24 (2 days) or SGD 29 (3 days), plus a refundable SGD 10 card deposit. Taxis and Grab rides are reasonable for families travelling together. On a package, airport transfers and sightseeing transfers are already included, so you only pay for your own evening trips.

7. Shopping, SIM card and extras

Set aside money for shopping (Mustafa Centre and Orchard Road are the classic stops), a local SIM or eSIM, travel insurance, and tips for hotel staff if you wish (tipping is not expected in Singapore). Tourists can claim a GST refund on eligible purchases above the minimum spend at Changi Airport.

Package or DIY: which costs less?

Booking everything yourself can work for experienced travellers, but for most Indian families a package costs the same or less, because tour operators get combo and group rates on tickets, include airport transfers, and handle the visa. It also removes the stress of buying tickets for fixed time slots. Compare like for like: when you price a DIY trip, add every ticket, every transfer and the visa before comparing with a package quote.

Sample budgets: couple and family

Couple, 4 nights, mid-range: flights, visa, a 4-star hotel, Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa and Night Safari, plus food and transport. A package such as our Singapore honeymoon package covers the hotel, tickets and transfers in one price.

Family of four, 5 nights: the hotel is the biggest cost, so look for a family room or two interconnecting rooms. Children's tickets save money at most attractions. Our Singapore Grand Family Holiday covers all the big attractions.

Budget trip, 2 nights: choose a weekday, a Little India or Bugis hotel, hawker food, the MRT and the free attractions. Our 2-night Singapore package includes the essentials.

Cost by trip length

2 to 3 nights: the cheapest way to see Singapore. You pay for fewer hotel nights and usually only one or two paid attractions, such as Gardens by the Bay and the Sentosa cable car. Ideal on a weekday.

4 to 5 nights: the most popular choice, and the best value per day. Add Universal Studios and one of the Mandai parks, and you have covered the highlights.

6 to 7 nights: a longer stay in Singapore adds hotel nights, which are the biggest cost. Splitting the week between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur often costs less overall, because Malaysian hotels are cheaper and Indians currently need no visa for Malaysia.

Our Singapore itinerary guide shows what fits into each length of trip.

Ways to save money on your Singapore trip

  • Avoid school holidays, long weekends and big events when hotel prices peak.
  • Book flights 6 to 10 weeks ahead, and compare South Indian gateways.
  • Choose combo tickets or a package rather than buying attractions one by one.
  • Eat at hawker centres and food courts for lunch.
  • Use the MRT instead of taxis for short trips.
  • Make the most of the free evening shows and heritage areas.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a 5-day Singapore trip cost from India?

It depends on flights, hotel and attractions. Hotels and tickets are the biggest costs; a package with tickets and transfers included usually gives the best value. Send us your dates for an exact quote.

Is Singapore expensive for Indian tourists?

Hotels and attractions are expensive by Asian standards, but food at hawker centres and public transport are cheap, and many top sights are free.

What is the cheapest time to visit Singapore?

Weekdays outside Indian school holidays, Diwali, Christmas and New Year, and away from big events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix.

How much money should I carry to Singapore?

Cards are accepted almost everywhere, so carry a modest amount of Singapore dollars for hawker centres and small shops, plus a card that works abroad.

Is a package cheaper than booking Singapore on my own?

Often yes, because packages include discounted combo tickets, transfers and visa help. Always compare the total cost, not just the hotel.

How much does Universal Studios Singapore cost?

About SGD 83 for adults and SGD 63 for children for a one-day ticket at standard rates in 2026; prices vary by date and seller.
