Indian passport holders need a visa to visit Dubai, but the process is simple and quick. Most travellers apply online for a UAE tourist e-visa before they fly, usually valid for a 30-day or 60-day stay. And if you already hold a valid US visa or green card, or a UK or EU visa or residence permit, you may be able to get a visa on arrival at the airport instead.
This guide explains the current Dubai visa for Indians rules: the types of tourist visa, documents, processing time, typical fees and the visa-on-arrival rules. Visa rules and fees change from time to time, so always confirm them close to travel; when you book with us, we arrange the visa and check the requirements for your dates.
Do Indians need a visa for Dubai?
Yes. Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and a UAE visa is valid for all of them, including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah. Indian citizens with ordinary passports need either a pre-arranged tourist visa or, if eligible, a visa on arrival.
Types of Dubai tourist visa
- 30-day tourist visa: the most popular choice for holidays; single or multiple entry options are available.
- 60-day tourist visa: for longer stays or trips that include other emirates or visits to family.
- Transit visa: for short stopovers of up to 48 or 96 hours, usually arranged with your airline.
- 5-year multiple-entry tourist visa: for frequent visitors, with conditions such as proof of funds.
A Dubai 30 days visa comfortably covers any of our packages. The visa is issued electronically and emailed to you; carry a printout or keep it on your phone.
Documents required
- A scan of your passport, valid for at least 6 months from your travel date
- A recent passport-size photograph with a white background
- Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
- Hotel booking or the address where you will stay
- Sometimes a PAN card copy or bank statement, depending on the applicant and the issuing channel
Children need their own visa, and a minor travelling with one parent may need additional documents.
How to apply
Indians can apply through several channels: the official UAE immigration portals (ICP or GDRFA Dubai), airlines such as Emirates, flydubai and Air India when you fly with them, or an authorised travel agent or tour operator. When you book a package with us, we collect your documents and apply on your behalf, so you do not have to deal with portals or forms.
Dubai visa processing time
A tourist e-visa is usually issued within 3 to 5 working days, and sometimes faster. Apply at least 1 to 2 weeks before travel, and earlier during Diwali, Christmas, New Year and summer holidays, when applications peak. Express processing is sometimes available at extra cost.
Dubai visa price and fees for Indians
The Dubai visa price depends on the type of visa (30 or 60 days, single or multiple entry), the channel and whether you need express processing. Government fees, service charges and sometimes insurance are bundled together, so prices vary between providers. Ask us for the current fee when you request a quote; we show it separately so you know exactly what you are paying for. Be wary of websites that charge far more than standard rates.
UAE visa on arrival for Indians
Indian passport holders can get a visa on arrival at UAE airports if they hold any of the following:
- A valid US visa or US green card
- A valid UK or European Union visa or residence permit
- A valid residence permit from Japan, South Korea, Australia, Canada, Singapore or New Zealand
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. As of late 2026, the visa on arrival offered a 14-day stay, extendable once for another 14 days, or a 60-day option, with fees of around AED 350 including service charges. Approval is at the discretion of the immigration officer, and rules change, so confirm before you fly. If you are not eligible, arrange your tourist visa before travel; Indians without a qualifying visa cannot get a visa on arrival.
At Dubai airport
After landing at Dubai International Airport (DXB), follow the signs to passport control. Officers check your passport and visa, and may take your photo and fingerprints or scan your eyes. Many visitors can use smart gates after the first entry. Then collect your bags and pass customs; our representative will be waiting in the arrivals hall for your transfer. Read our Dubai travel tips for more on the airport, metro and SIM cards.
Common reasons for delays
- Blurred passport scans or photos that do not meet the specifications
- Name mismatches between passport and ticket
- Applying too late during peak season
- Incomplete documents for children travelling with one parent
Visa tips for families and senior citizens
Apply for the whole family together so the visas are issued at the same time. For children travelling with only one parent, carry a consent letter from the other parent. Senior citizens follow the same process, but travel insurance with good medical cover is strongly recommended.
