Dubai has a reputation for luxury, but a holiday there can suit a wide range of budgets. Flights from India are short and competitive, good-value hotels are easy to find in Bur Dubai and Deira, and many of the city's best sights, from the Dubai Fountain to the beaches, are free.

This guide breaks down a realistic Dubai trip cost from India: flights, hotels, the visa, attraction tickets, food and local taxes, with sample budgets and tips. All figures are indicative and change with season and exchange rates; for an exact price, send us your dates.

Is Dubai expensive?

It can be, but it does not have to be. Five-star resorts, fine dining, alcohol and premium experiences are expensive, but three and four-star hotels, metro travel and Indian restaurants are reasonably priced. The biggest variables are your travel dates, as winter and festival periods cost more, the hotel area, and how many paid attractions you add.

1. Flights

Return economy fares from major Indian cities are often roughly ₹18,000 to ₹35,000 per person when booked early outside peak dates, and can be much higher at Diwali, Christmas, New Year, Eid and in summer holidays. Low-cost carriers can be cheaper, but check baggage charges. See our guide to flights from India to Dubai.

2. Hotels

  • 3-star in Bur Dubai, Deira or Al Barsha: roughly ₹4,000 to ₹7,000 per room per night in winter, less in summer.
  • 4-star: roughly ₹6,000 to ₹12,000.
  • 5-star and beach resorts: from roughly ₹15,000 upwards, much more on the Palm in peak season.

Add the Tourism Dirham fee of about AED 7 to 20 per room per night, paid at the hotel. Summer rates can be 30 to 50 percent lower than winter.

3. Visa

A UAE tourist e-visa for Indians costs a few thousand rupees depending on the type and provider; visa on arrival for eligible travellers costs around AED 350. See our Dubai visa guide.

4. Attractions and tours

Typical adult prices (indicative; check official websites):

  • Burj Khalifa At the Top: about AED 209 off-peak, AED 259 at sunset and peak times in winter.
  • Museum of the Future, Dubai Frame, Dubai Aquarium: from moderate to higher prices; combos save money.
  • Desert safari and dhow cruise: shared tours are good value; private and premium options cost more.
  • Theme parks and water parks: one of the bigger costs for families; book online for discounts.
  • Free: the Dubai Fountain, beaches, Marina and JBR walks, souks and Al Fahidi.

Our packages already include the city tour, Burj Khalifa, desert safari, dhow cruise and Abu Dhabi tour.

5. Food

Indian restaurants in Bur Dubai and Karama serve thalis and meals at reasonable prices, food courts are good value, and fine dining is expensive. As a rough guide, allow ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 per person per day for food, more with alcohol, which is heavily taxed. Breakfast is included on our packages. See our Indian food in Dubai guide.

6. Transport and extras

  • Metro: cheap and efficient with a Nol card.
  • Taxis and ride-hailing: reasonable for short trips; airport and long trips cost more.
  • SIM card: tourist SIMs and eSIMs are widely available.
  • Shopping: budget separately, especially for gold and electronics.

7. GST and TCS on overseas packages

When you buy an overseas tour package from an Indian tour operator, GST at 5% applies to the package price, and TCS is collected. Since 1 April 2026, TCS on overseas tour packages is a flat 2%. TCS is credited to your PAN and can be adjusted against your income tax or refunded when you file your return. Our quotes show these clearly.
