This Eastern Europe tour package links three of Europe's most beautiful capitals. Begin in Vienna, with the Ringstrasse, the State Opera and Schönbrunn Palace, then spend two nights in Budapest for its castle hill, Parliament and a scenic Danube river cruise.
Travel through Bratislava to Prague for two nights: Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square with its astronomical clock. Then cross into Austria for Mozart's Salzburg the postcard village of Hallstatt on its lake and a cable car to the Dachstein glacier, before ending in Munich.

Vienna, Budapest and Prague offer grand palaces, river views and old towns at prices often lower than Paris or Switzerland, and they are less crowded. Late spring to early autumn is the best time, with long days for evening walks along the Danube and the Vltava.
