If you see only one place in Singapore, make it Marina Bay. In one walkable area you have Gardens by the Bay, with its giant Supertrees and two record-breaking glass conservatories, the three towers of Marina Bay Sands with the SkyPark on top, the Merlion, the Singapore Flyer and two free light shows every evening.
This guide covers what to see, current ticket prices, timings and the best order to do it all, so you can plan an afternoon and evening that ends with the Supertrees lit up to music.
Gardens by the Bay at a glance
Gardens by the Bay is a 101-hectare park on reclaimed land next to Marina Bay. The outdoor gardens, including the Supertree Grove, are free and open from early morning until late at night. You pay only for the conservatories and a few special attractions. Allow at least three to four hours for the domes and the Supertrees, more if you want to see the evening show.
Cloud Forest
The Cloud Forest recreates a cool, misty tropical mountain inside a glass dome. As you enter, a 35-metre indoor waterfall falls from the top of a plant-covered 'mountain'. A lift takes you to the summit, and you walk back down through aerial walkways past orchids, ferns and carnivorous plants, with views over the bay. Seasonal displays change through the year; in recent years the dome has hosted themed exhibitions, such as the Jurassic World experience included in some of our packages. Bring a light jacket for children; it is cool inside.
Flower Dome
The Flower Dome is the world's largest glass greenhouse, according to Guinness World Records. It holds plants from Mediterranean and semi-arid regions: ancient olive trees, baobabs, succulents and a central flower field with displays that change with the seasons and festivals, such as tulips in spring and poinsettias at Christmas. It is flat, air-conditioned and step-free, making it ideal for senior citizens.
Gardens by the Bay ticket prices
| Ticket (non-resident) | Adult | Child (3–12) |
|---|---|---|
| Flower Dome + Cloud Forest | SGD 46 | SGD 32 |
| Floral Fantasy | SGD 24 | SGD 16 |
| Supertree Observatory | SGD 14 | SGD 10 |
| OCBC Skyway | SGD 14 | SGD 10 |
Prices are standard rates in 2026, including GST, and may change; bundles of several attractions cost less. The conservatories open from about 9 am to 9 pm. Most of our Singapore packages include the domes as part of a Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands combo, with shared transfers.
Supertree Grove and the Garden Rhapsody show
The Supertrees are vertical gardens 25 to 50 metres tall, covered in more than 160,000 plants. By day you can walk among them for free, or climb to the OCBC Skyway, a walkway 22 metres above the ground. Every evening at about 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm, the free Garden Rhapsody show lights up the Supertrees in time to music for around 15 minutes. Lie back on the ground for the best view. On some nights with special events, such as Christmas Wonderland, entry to the Supertree Grove is ticketed.
Marina Bay Sands SkyPark
The SkyPark Observation Deck sits 56 floors up on the ship-shaped deck across the top of the three towers. It gives the classic view over Gardens by the Bay, the harbour and the city skyline. Go late afternoon to see the city by day and as the lights come on. The famous infinity pool is for hotel guests only. Many of our packages combine the SkyPark with Gardens by the Bay on the same day.
More to see around Marina Bay
- Merlion Park: Singapore's icon, across the bay from Marina Bay Sands. Free, and great for photos at sunset.
- Spectra: a free light, laser and water show on the Event Plaza in front of Marina Bay Sands, every evening.
- Singapore Flyer: a 165-metre observation wheel; each rotation takes about 30 minutes.
- Helix Bridge and the waterfront promenade: a lovely evening walk linking the sights.
- The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands: luxury brands, food courts and the indoor canal with sampan rides.
Suggested plan for a Marina Bay afternoon
- Arrive at Gardens by the Bay around 2 to 3 pm and visit the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome while it is hot outside.
- Walk through the Supertree Grove and up the OCBC Skyway if you like.
- Cross to Marina Bay Sands for the SkyPark at sunset.
- Have dinner at the food court or a restaurant in the Shoppes.
- Watch Garden Rhapsody at the Supertrees or Spectra on the waterfront, or both, as they are at different times.
Gardens by the Bay with children and senior citizens
Gardens by the Bay works well for every age. Children enjoy the Cloud Forest's misty mountain and the free water play at the Far East Organization Children's Garden (bring a change of clothes). Senior travellers appreciate that both domes are air-conditioned and step-free, with lifts, benches and accessible toilets; wheelchairs can be borrowed at the visitor services counter. The outdoor gardens are hot in the middle of the day, so plan the domes for the afternoon and the Supertrees for the evening.
Floral Fantasy, the Supertree Observatory and other add-ons
Floral Fantasy is a smaller, enchanting garden of hanging flowers and themed zones with a short 4D ride, popular with families. The Supertree Observatory, at the top of the tallest Supertree, has an open-air deck with views over the gardens and the bay. The OCBC Skyway links several Supertrees 22 metres up; it can close in rain or lightning. If you plan to see several of these, a bundle ticket costs less than buying each separately.
Photography tips
For the classic shot of the Supertrees with Marina Bay Sands behind them, stand near the edge of the Supertree Grove around sunset. The Cloud Forest waterfall is best photographed from the entrance, before the crowds. For the skyline, the SkyPark at blue hour, just after sunset, gives the most dramatic view, and Merlion Park offers the iconic view of Marina Bay Sands across the water. Tripods may be restricted in busy areas, so a phone or a light camera is easiest.
Rain, heat and what to wear
Singapore is hot and humid, and afternoon showers are common. The domes are a perfect escape from both. Wear light clothes and comfortable shoes, carry a small umbrella, and take a light layer for the Cloud Forest, which is kept cool. The Supertree light shows go ahead in light rain but may be cancelled in heavy storms or lightning.
Getting there
Bayfront MRT station (Circle and Downtown lines) connects to both Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay through an underground walkway. Taxis and Grab drop off at the main entrances. On our packages, shared transfers pick you up from your hotel.
