Mauritius Sightseeing Tours: North, South and Ile aux Cerfs

Every Mauritius package from Dreamland Vacations includes the three tours most Indian travellers want: the North Island tour, the South Island tour and a day at Ile aux Cerfs. Here is what you see on each, and which optional tours are worth adding.

Mauritius North tour

A full day around the capital and the north coast. You visit Port Louis and the Citadel (Fort Adelaide) for the view over the harbour, the shops and cafés of Caudan Waterfront, the giant water lilies of the Pamplemousses (SSR) Botanical Garden, the red-roofed church at Cap Malheureux and the beach town of Grand Baie.

Mauritius South tour

The South tour shows the green, hilly side of Mauritius. It starts at Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), the sacred lake with the tall Shiva and Durga statues, then the Trou aux Cerfs volcanic crater, the Black River Gorges viewpoint, and Chamarel with its Seven Coloured Earth and 100-metre waterfall. Some tours end at Gris Gris beach or the Le Morne viewpoint.

Ile aux Cerfs tour

Ile aux Cerfs is a small island off the east coast with white sand and a turquoise lagoon. You take a boat from Trou d'Eau Douce and spend the day on the beach. Optional extras include parasailing, an undersea walk, a glass-bottom boat and the speedboat trip to the GRSE waterfall. Lunch is not included unless you book it.
