Mauritius Itinerary for 5, 6 and 7 Days
This is the day-by-day Mauritius itinerary we use for our 5-night packages, with ideas for shorter and longer trips. It covers the three things almost every Indian traveller wants: the North of the island, the South with Chamarel and Grand Bassin, and a beach day at Ile aux Cerfs.

Mauritius itinerary for 5 days (4 nights)
Follow days 1 to 4 above and leave on day 5. You still see the North, the South and Ile aux Cerfs, but there is no free day, so choose a hotel near the east or north coast to shorten drives.
Mauritius itinerary for 7 days (6 nights)
Add a second free day for a catamaran cruise on the east or west coast, dolphin watching at Tamarin, or a day at Le Morne beach. With 6 nights you can also split your stay between two hotels, for example 3 nights in the north and 3 on the east or south-west coast.
Itinerary tips
- Keep the tours on non-consecutive days if you are travelling with children or elderly parents
- Do the Ile aux Cerfs day on a weekday, when it is quieter
- Between January and March, keep a spare day in case a tour is moved for weather

Is 5 days enough for Mauritius?
5 days (4 nights) is enough for the North tour, South tour and Ile aux Cerfs. 6 days (5 nights) is better because it adds a free day to relax.
What should a Mauritius itinerary include?
The North Island tour, the South Island tour with Chamarel and Grand Bassin, a day at Ile aux Cerfs and at least one free day for the beach or a catamaran cruise.
