Maldives trip cost for a couple
Example for 2 adults, 3 nights in a water villa with speedboat transfers:
- Resort package: about ₹2,02,000 (Medhufushi, half board) to ₹3,79,000 (OBLU SELECT Lobigili, 5★ all inclusive) for two
- Return flights to Malé: commonly ₹35,000 to ₹70,000 per person, depending on your city, season and how early you book
- Extras: spa, diving, excursions and drinks outside your meal plan
- Taxes: GST, and 2% TCS on overseas packages, as shown at checkout (TCS can be claimed in your income tax return)

How to keep the cost down
- Choose a speedboat resort. All our packages use resorts in North and South Malé Atoll reached by speedboat. A seaplane transfer typically adds several hundred US dollars per couple.
- Pick full board or all inclusive. Resort meals and drinks are expensive, so a meal plan usually costs less than paying as you go. Compare all-inclusive water villa packages.
- Travel from November to mid-December. Prices are usually lowest then, rise by around 10–15% from January to April, and peak over Christmas and New Year.
- Book flights early and be flexible by a day or two.
- Three nights is enough for most first visits; add a fourth night only if you want an extra beach day.
Is the Maldives expensive?
Compared with Goa or Andaman, yes: you are paying for a private villa over the water on a resort island. But a short 3-night water villa trip with a good meal plan is often similar in total cost to a week in Europe, and you avoid long sightseeing days.
