Maldives Visa for Indians: Free Visa on Arrival and IMUGA

Maldives Visa for Indians: Free Visa on Arrival and IMUGA

Indian passport holders do not need to apply for a Maldives visa in advance. You receive a free 30-day visa on arrival at Velana International Airport, Malé, as long as you meet the entry requirements below. Rules can change, so check the latest requirements with us or the Maldives immigration website before you travel.

Documents you need

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date
  • A confirmed resort or hotel booking for your stay
  • A confirmed return or onward ticket
  • The IMUGA traveller declaration, completed online before you fly
  • Enough funds for your stay; a resort booking normally covers this

When you book a Maldives package with us, we send your resort confirmation and help you complete the IMUGA declaration.

What is IMUGA?

IMUGA is the Maldives' online traveller declaration. Every traveller fills it in before arrival with passport, flight and accommodation details, and health and customs information. It is free. Complete it within the time window shown on the official portal before your flight and keep the confirmation on your phone.

On arrival in Malé

After immigration, the resort team meets you at the arrivals area and takes you to your speedboat. Keep your resort confirmation handy. Customs rules in the Maldives are strict on alcohol and certain items; do not carry alcohol into the country.
